Winning a pitch competition can hand an early startup a check with no strings, a stage in front of the investors it has been chasing, and a credibility stamp that opens the next ten doors. The catch is that most "best pitch competitions" lists are stale the day after they publish, listing dead deadlines and last year's prizes. This one is different in two ways: every entry below was verified against the official source, and each is honest about what you actually win, because a surprising number of these "prizes" are not cash at all.
A note on timing, because it matters. This guide covers the 2026 season, and it is being kept current through the year. Some 2026 editions have already been held by the time you are reading this. Where that is the case, the entry says so and points you at the next window, since almost all of these run on an annual cadence. The dates, deadlines, and prizes below are the most recent confirmed figures from each competition's own site.
Before you enter anything, understand what you are actually competing for. The word "prize" hides three very different things, and knowing which is which will save you from chasing the wrong ones.
What “prize” actually means
Equity-free cash
A grant you keep 100% of, no strings. The best kind. TechCrunch Battlefield ($100K), Hello Tomorrow (€100K), Supernova ($200K pool), the student prizes.
Investment (dilutive)
A check in exchange for equity or a SAFE. Real money, but you give something up. Startup World Cup ($1M), Slush (€1M), Pitch by Deel ($1M SAFE), Y Combinator ($500K).
Exposure and access
No money at all: a trophy, a main-stage slot, investor introductions. Often worth more than the cash. Web Summit, South Summit, VivaTech, SXSW Pitch.
None of these is better than the others in the abstract. Equity-free cash is the cleanest, but a main-stage slot at Slush or Web Summit in front of the right investor can be worth far more than a five-figure check. The point is to enter with your eyes open, and the table under each entry below tells you exactly which one you are playing for, right down to a Prize type line.

Startup pitch competitions, answered
The list is the easy part. The pitch is the hard part.
There is a hard truth running under this entire list. Getting accepted into one of these competitions is the easy part. The pitch itself, a few minutes to make a room of investors believe you, is where most founders come undone. A deck that reads fine in a doc falls apart the moment you say it out loud under pressure, and the weak spot is almost always the one you cannot see from the inside.
That is the exact thing a practice run with the right person fixes. On GrowthMentor you can book a 1:1 with a mentor who has sat on the other side of the judging table, or raised on the stage you are aiming for, and walk them through your pitch before it counts. They will tell you where the story loses them, which number to open with, and how to handle the question you are dreading in the Q&A. You can run it as many times as you need, most mentors are free to book, and one membership is unlimited calls.
The competitions above are the opportunity. The pitch is the part you actually control. Rehearse it with someone who has already been in that room, and walk in ready.
Here is what that looks like: a real 1:1 session with a mentor, right in the browser.
You found the stage. Now nail the pitch.
A great competition list is worthless
if the pitch falls flat.
Book a 1:1 with a mentor who has judged or won these competitions, and pressure-test your deck, your numbers, and your Q&A before the day. Most mentors are free, and one membership is unlimited calls.
