Why did you signup to GrowthMentor?
When I signed up I worked as the head of marketing at a startup called BigleLegal which is based in Barcelona. Barcelona is a city that has a lot of startups, but it’s not a city where it’s easy to network with people.
I always felt kind of left out and alone professionally in my work.
I’ve been searching for something like GrowthMentor for around 4-5 years by now and couldn’t find it.
What was your first mentor session like?
The first mentor I connected with was Carsten Pleiser. I was looking for somebody to help me out with a promotion. I felt like I was pretty good at content creation but not that good at promoting the content we create.
He actually gave us some really great actionable advice. He definitely has experience in that as his area is different, he works more in event marketing. But it didn’t really matter. As long as it’s B2B or SaaS specific, it’s cross-industry relevant. He has also suggested some platforms I didn’t know about where we could promote our content.
He was even nice enough to actually send me like a Google Doc after we finished with all his recommendations. I was really surprised as you don’t really expect that considering this was a free session as well.
What do you love most about GrowthMentor?
I really see the value in this community because instead of being isolated, you’re actually connected to a community of like-minded people and are able to share your experiences and get real-time feedback on stuff you’re working on.
You don’t feel so alone on what you’re doing and then you can actually even verify your ideas with somebody. Because sometimes you’re like, “Yeah, that’s a great idea!” but do you really know? Maybe it’s not a great idea, or maybe it is actually is a great idea, are you positive either way? This is actually the main reason why I really signed up for the platform.
What are you going to use GrowthMentor for next?
We are currently facing a problem where our pricing structure is complex. We want to restructure our pricing so it’s easy to understand that and intuitive yet also profitable. This is something that I’m kind of concerned about right now which is I wanted to connect with somebody who could actually recommend to me how to restructure the pricing better.
This is a topic that I think a lot of people are concerned about which is not easy to solve. Some startups have more of a laser-focused audience where they only cater to one type of audience. We have at least three different verticals that we’re working with. But our products are the same for both and therefore the pricing needs to be homogenized, but it’s really difficult to do it.
