Tell us something about yourself and what you are currently working on.
I’m the founder of Brightroom – subscription-based platform for corporate education and networking. I’m working on making small-group interactive learning as easy and accessible as a gym membership.
As evolved as the tech may get, we need to work with others to get anywhere worth getting to and working with others is a very human skill. Building this muscle takes continuous personal and interpersonal growth, which can only be practiced with others.
So at Brightroom, we give every employee the space to grow their leadership, communication, self-awareness and collaboration skills in small groups of diverse professionals.
Before you learned about GrowthMentor, how did you deal with the challenges you faced?
I’ve been using communities, LinkedIn, other mentoring platforms and Google obviously 🙂
What ultimately compelled you to sign up to GrowthMentor?
GrowthMentor has a fantastic pool of mentors. I could see it after a quick browse-through and have only confirmed it after I joined. And that’s how I found out about the platform to begin with – someone has recommended I reach out to Kurtis Morrison and I saw he’s offering some sessions through GrowthMentor.
What’s your favorite thing about GrowthMentor?
I love how easy it makes it to connect with such a vast range of amazing professionals across various industries and all over the globe.
What topics have you mostly discussed with mentors?
I’ve discussed GTM strategies, marketing, outreach, positioning, sweat equity and every conversation was insightful and helpful.
Is there a specific session/mentor that stands out in your mind as super helpful? Â
That’s a very hard question because all of my sessions so far have been 10/10 in terms of both utility and candor. The last one I had was with Teo Ivanov and I really liked his approach of sending a little questionnaire before the session – it allowed both me and him better prepare for the session and make the most out of the time.
I also like that the platform features a lot of strong female professionals – my sessions with Anna Tankel and Maria JD Sirotkina have been both very practical and uplifting.
Based on things you’ve discussed in calls, do you have any results to tell us about?
I’ve gained better clarity on my GTM strategy and have outlined a few marketing strategies I want to experiment with. I now also have a better understanding of how VSOP and sweat equity work. It’s one of those very nuanced things that are valuable to hear real-life experiences about rather than just relying on published sources.
To me GrowthMentor is about decreasing the amount of learning I make through mistakes (which is always great, but if you can save yourself a few bruises – even better 🙂 )
